Join us for dinner and discussion based on books from The Florida UCC Women’s Reading for Renewal Book List and other titles. Women are encouraged to borrow or purchase a copy of the book to be discussed and to read it prior to the dinner. Some copies are available in the Church Library and the Lee County Library System should have some as well . If you haven’t had a chance to read all, or even part of the book, come anyway for the lively discussions and fellowship. Please sign up on the UCC Women’s Bulletin Board or call the church office.

Community Outreach Donations

At the planning meeting held in April, the following organizations were selected to receive cash donations this year, made possible by the proceeds of our big fundraisers:

  • Florida UCC Women, the organization that provides support to UCC Women throughout Florida by presenting Regional Meetings, Conferences, Retreats, Reading for Renewal, Mission Study and other programs
  • Special Equestrians, Inc., a structured, therapeutic program providing horseback and equine assisted activities to children and adults with disabilities in Lee County
  • Gladiolus Learning and Development Center, providing educational and developmental child care for children of low income working families and striving to provide the social, emotional, economic and developmental needs of those children and families
  • Voices for Kids, the arm of the Guardian Ad Litem program of the 20th Circuit Court that provides support to children and volunteer GALs who are paired with and advocate for abused, neglected or abandoned children
  • McGregor Clinic, a non-profit healthcare program in Fort Myers which provides an integrated approach to patient care emphasizing services to HIV and AIDS clients
  • Footsteps to the Future Inc., supports girls in and aging out of foster care in Lee County through mentoring and transitional housing programs
  • Additional funds were ear-marked for a project to benefit the church.  The exact project will be determined later in conjunction with the minister and Board of Trustees
