Passing of the Peace

Call to Worship – (inspired by Matthew 20:1-16)
One: We do not emerge from palaces,
All: And we may not return to mansions.
One: We might not be scribes,
All: and most aren’t sages or televangelists.
One: We are but the people who seek the strength to say “I go.”
All: May we enter the vineyard together.

Unison Invocation (inspired by Matthew 20:1-16)
Calling God, help us to respond.
Hearing God, reassure us that you know us.
Working God, conscript us into the ranks of your laborers.
Present God, make us able to find you again in our worship today.
Amen.

Offertory Prayer: (Church of Scotland)
God of all goodness and grace, receive the gifts we offer;
and grant that our whole life may give you glory and praise;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Pastoral Prayer

Silent Prayer

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Benediction
One: Go now to will and to work for God’s purposes.
Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus.
Be filled with the same love
and look to the interests of others.
With reverence for God, work out your salvation.And may God quench your thirst with love and consolation;
May Christ Jesus strengthen you and encourage you;
And may the Holy Spirit lead you on and make your joy complete.
We go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
All: In the name of Christ. Amen.
