Missions Moment
In spite of restrictions Covid-19 has placed on in person interactions, Missions is still very active. Some of our current outreach activities include:
The monthly check we have been sending to Abundant Grace has kept them in supply of food for their lunches they are making on Wednesdays and Sundays.
We are continuing our collection for The Florida Food Pantry at Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church and the response has been overwhelming. The colorful container located at the front church entrance has been filled generously every week. Along with the spaghetti and pasta, other items they are in most need of are peanut butter, jelly, dry cereal, spaghetti and sauce. Cash donations are happily accepted as they can fill in needs at great prices and bulk purchasing.
Although it was not driven by missions, Carolyn Martin has created a group to make masks for those on the front lines and others who need them. If a mask is needed, Carolyn has put them in a container located next to the food collection bin at the front door.
In lieu of backpacks and school supplies we used to acquire for our Back to School Drive, we have been collecting monetary donations to assist The Harlem Heights Foundation. They are in a better position to purchase in bulk what items would be best suited for the return to schools, whether it be at home or face to face.
Hopefully we will be back on schedule soon.
Respectfully submitted,
